Departments of Texas Fight News Magazine

Soldiers in Combat:  This section is devoted to the military specific fighters who expand their training past the military combative techniques learned in the service.  Many military men and women have dabbled in mixed martial arts and combative sports and had opportunities many only dream.  Texas Fight News™ Magazine reserves a section each issue to tell these stories.

Girl Fight!: This section is devoted to the female competitors who strive to make a presence in a male dominated sport.  After the rise in popularity of Gina Corano many women have crossed into the sport of mixed martial arts.  Women are dominated Texas grappling events as well as moving into more fight cards across the state and this section allows us to recognize these women when no one else would take notice.

Junior Warriors: This section is devoted to the coverage of teen and youth mixed martial arts and combative sports.  Where we don't focus on amateur boxing we do focus on the youth who participate in kickboxing, MMA and grappling.

Ask Ragan?: This section is a monthly column written and maintained by Ragan McDaniel, president of B3 Sports Management, who offers advice to up-and-coming fighters.  He answers questions submitted about getting into professional MMA, training, management, and general unknowns needed to survive in this growing industry.

Pain in the Pit: This section is a monthly fitness column written and maintained by Rudy Hernandez of the Spartan Pit in San Antonio Texas.  Hernandez has been involved with fitness, bodybuilding for over 10 years after serving in the US Army.  He has trained several fighters and provided fitness advice to many non-fighters through his boot camps.

Submission Fighting 101: This section is a techniques column overseen by the staff of Texas Fight News™ Magazine.  Each month we photograph techniques that are submitted from various academies throughout Texas.  Over 2009 West Texas MMA and Jiu-jitsu provided many of the techniques to allow people to become aware of this section.  In 2010 we plan to photograph at least 10 new schools and share unique techniques to our readers.
